MS Internet Explorer V5.5 or higher

- with Microsoft Virtual Machine for Java, 5.0.0.3810 or higher

- or with Sun Virtual Machine, Sun Java Plugin 1.4 or higher

The following Internet Explorer settings must be made:

Necessary settings for “Scripting“

·    Open the Tools menu and choose Internet Options.

·    Within the Internet Options window choose Security.

·    Select the Web content zone Internet and push below the Custom Level… button.

·    The window Security Settings will be opened.

·    Guarantee that the following settings are activated within the window Security Settings:

·    In the section Microsoft VM the point Java permissions must be activated. It is recommended to choose High safety.

·    In the section Scripting the point Active scripting must be enabled.

·    In the section Scripting the point Scripting of Java applets must be enabled.

·    Confirm your changes with OK, to close the windows.

·    Restart the Microsoft Internet Explorer.

If changes are not possible please contact your system administrator.

Necessary settings for “Virtual Machine”

To the activation of the Microsoft Virtual Machine for Java, starting from 5.0.0.3810 the following attitudes are necessary in the Internet Explorer:

·    Open the Tools menu and choose Internet Options.

·    Within the Internet Options window choose Advanced.

·    Guarantee that the following settings are activated within the window Advanced Settings.

·    In the section Microsoft VM the points Java-console enabled, Java logging enabled and JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled must be activated.

·    Confirm your changes with OK, to close the windows.

·    Restart the Microsoft Internet Explorer.

If changes are not possible please contact your system administrator.

To the activation of the Virtual Machine of Sun, Sun Java Plugin starting from version 1.5 are necessary the following attitudes in the Internet Explorer:

·    Open the Tools menu and choose Internet Options.

·    Within the Internet Options window choose Advanced.

·    Look for the section Java (Sun).

·    Activate in the subordinated point the check box.

·    Confirm your changes with OK, to close the windows.

·    Restart the Microsoft Internet Explorer.

If changes are not possible please contact your system administrator.

Java error messages can provide valuable assistance in case of problems.

·    In the View menu, open the Java Command Line item.

·    This opens a new window. The window lists the version and release of your current Microsoft VM for Java. Any errors related to Java which occur will also be logged here.
